絶滅危惧種 Windows CE6.0機 8,499円 ― 2011/08/28 14:22
「あきばおー」で通常価格8,999円のAK-PCAP1（AKART社のWindowsCE6.0機) が、決算セール特価8,499円で売られていた。
「ネットブック型PDA」という、競合機種がほとんど存在しない何とも中途半端なジャンルの新製品として、昨年、発売された機種である。発売当時も、1万５千円弱という低価格を売りにしていたが、更に低価格化が進み、8,500円を割ってしまった。
円高でなければ、100ドルPCといえたかもしれないほど低価格な、ＰＣモドキである。
ネットブック（右側。EeePC901)よりもひと回り小さく、重さも650gと大変軽い。
画面は7インチワイドサイズで、EeePC901の8.9インチと比べてひと回り小さく、表示ドット数もネットブックの1024×600に対し、800×480と１ランク少ない。
一方、キーボードのサイズは、ほぼ、同じであり、打ち辛いところは、どちらも同程度である。
往年のWindowsCE機MobileGearIIと比べると、流石に画面はモノクロ液晶と比べて隔世の感があるが、キーボードは、大幅に打ちにくくなっている。キーボードの奥行きはほぼ同じだが、横幅が少し狭くなっている。この、横幅の少しの違いが、打ちやすさの点で、驚くほど大きな差となっている。
今はすっかり使わなくなってしまったMobileGearIIだが、キーボードが秀逸で、文字入力には最適のマシンだった。
ポメラとも比較してみた。ポメラとMobileGearIIのキーボードが、ほぼ、同じサイズであることに、改めて気が付き、ナルホドと思った。
AK-PCAP1をポメラのライバルのように評価する向きもあるようだが、本機のキーボードは、ポメラやMobileGearIIとは、まったく比較にならないと思う。
